Painting for me is the expression of the soul, a catharsis, a relief from the daily life. The subject that at the moment occupies me or preoccupies me: butterflies and the human figure--especially the hands--allow me to have different discourses, but at the end, everything about life, the feelings and the emotions. Butterflies are now the central theme, the inspiration or the pretext so to speak; the variety of symbolism of butterflies can speak to me as much of love as of pain, they can mean union, fragility, freedom, joy, hope or simply the relation of the human being with nature. Extracting those symbolisms and saying them with color, forms and composition keeps me busy, but it is still more important that the viewer achieves the different readings from the paintings; this is a constant source of restlessness of my work.
